ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to register online?

We recommend online registration to reserve your space in class; however, it is not necessary. Signing in at the front desk is required before every class.

How often should I practice?

A daily practice is optimal; however, 3 times a week is highly recommended. A consistent yoga practice strengthens and opens as well as releases and relaxes stress and holding patterns in the mind and body.

Can I eat beforehand?

It is best to practice on an empty stomach, so allow two hours after a meal before practice. Make sure you are well hydrated before class; this includes both water and electrolytes.

What should I bring?

You will need to bring a yoga mat, a hand towel and water. We do have all of these items available in the studio for rental or purchase, but we highly recommend bringing your own for hygienic reasons.

What should I wear?

Be prepared to practice barefoot with loose/stretchy comfortable clothes, for all classes. Avoid clothing with zippers and buttons. Please do not wear heavy cologne or perfumes.

What time should I get there?

Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in. Classes will begin promptly, and the door will be locked shortly after class begins, so please be on time!

What is the temperature in the room?

The practice room is kept warm — approximately 90–95 degrees for safe stretching and movement, unless noted on the schedule. We use infrared panels to heat our studio.

For your safety:

Alcohol and heat don’t mix. Please refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages before class. Should we suspect you’ve been drinking, we will remove you from class.

INFRARED HEAT?

Not only is AYL "Green" and Energy Efficient but we use infrared heating panels, too! We heat our studio with the panels as they are designed to heat the body without raising the air temperature to uncomfortable levels. By using the panels for "softer" heat, our heart and lungs are thankful as it causes less stress on our cardiovascular system.
